Tyler Makowiecki is a versatile freelance trumpeter based in the DMV area, specializing in lead and jazz trumpet performance.  He is a 2026 graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz and Commercial Music.  Makowiecki will be attending the University of Miami Frost School of Music in the fall to pursue a Masters Degree in Jazz Trumpet as a Teacher’s Assistant and a Henry Mancini Institute Fellow.  You can find Tyler gigging around the DMV all of the time from venues as large as the Kennedy Center and Rams Head on Stage to any small jazz club.  He has performed with jazz legends such as David Benoit, Matt Niess and the Capitol Bones, Ashlin Parker, and Bijon Watson, as well as top-call military musicians in the DMV area.  In addition to jazz performance, Makowiecki is an experienced pit orchestra musician, having played lead and section trumpet for productions such as Legally Blonde, The Wizard of Oz, Monty Python's Spamalot, Fiddler on the Roof, Catch Me If You Can, On The Town, and Frozen.
