Many of us are familiar with Bach, and his work is highly coveted in many music institutions around the world. As a result, I correlate his Allemande from Lute Suite No. 1 in E Minor with the many instances in my life when I was heavily immersed with my academic work. From hitting the books to hitting the drums, this piece reflects both the intricacies and the beauty of the time I spent studying my craft and other academic subjects.
