Elias Aguirre
Adelstan (Mr. Petitpois Achete un Château)

Elias Aguirre is a Mexican tenor studying classical singing and passionate about Mexican music such as ranchero, bolero and mariachi. He got into music at an early age by his father’s instructions. He debuted as a singer at the age of sixteen in one of the most important musical venues in Mexico, La Sala de Músicos y Compositores Roberto Cantoral. In 2015 Elias began his vocal training with the baritone Ramón Calzadilla, considered one of the best singers of lyrical and popular music of the last century in Latin America.

In 2019, Aguirre participated in the international program The Voice: Mexico in its largest edition worldwide. With more than 500 participants, Elias managed to place himself in the top three of the program. During the blind auditions all four coaches turned their chairs and tried their best to convince him to be on their team. Elias got through blind auditions, knock outs, battles and ultimately the top three of the program. Ever since he has collaborated with important singers such as Ricardo Montaner, Meli G and Manuel José.

In 2020 he started his tour Tribuo al Príncipe. Around 5,000 people attended his opening concert. Without even looking to study abroad, Elias received an invitation from Shenandoah University and was awarded as a Presidential Scholar to continue his preparation in the operatic field. In 2021, representing Shenandoah University, he participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) singing competition placing semifinalist for the state of Virginia. He was also recently invited to be a full scholar in the Seagle Festival opera program and cast as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi during the summer of 2022.
