Costume Designer

Cheryl received her Master of Fine Arts from The George Washington University. She is currently an associate professor of costume design at Shenandoah University. She has designed costumes for twenty-nine summers with Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. Her work has been seen last summer in Grease. She has also been seen in many shows, including Show BoatCrazy for YouDamn YankeesGigi, Jesus Christ SuperstarFiddler on the Roof, 1776, Seven Brides for Seven BrothersSeussicalDisney’s Beauty and the BeastCatsShrek!: The MusicalMonty Python’s Spamalot, the Wiz, Pirates of Penzance and My Fair Lady. She recently designed the costumes for the play My Children! My Africa! for the Washington Stage Guild (WSG) in Washington, D.C., as well as Candide for WSG in 2019. Prior to coming to Shenandoah University, she was the on the faculty of Allentown College of St. Francis DeSales, (now DeSales University) in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, and the resident costume designer for the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. She has received three awards from the American College Theatre Festival for Outstanding Costume Design. Most recently OnStage Washington, D.C. named her designs for Pirates of Penzance among the Best Costume Designs for a musical in 2016.
