Sofia Stankiewicz, a sophomore voice performance major, is so thrilled to be making her Shenandoah opera debut. Although Sofia made the most out of every opportunity in her hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania, she could not be happier to be at Shenandoah Conservatory doing the thing she loves most. She is the recipient of several scholarships and choral acknowledgments from all around the East Coast, some of which include an honorable mention from the Friday Morning Music Club, first place at Reading Civic Theater’s annual scholarship gala, a member of All-East Coast choir and a generous scholarship from Reading Choral Society’s collegiate level scholarship competition. Sofia has trained classically for eight years and tries to take advantage of every opportunity that comes her way. She is a student of Dr. Fotina Naumenko and interim voice professor Dr. Chelsea Cushman and studied under Jeffrey Lentz before coming to Shenandoah University
Sofia would like to thank her amazing teachers and professors whose constant encouragement and support have helped to make this a most enjoyable journey, and most importantly to her parents that she can’t thank enough for everything they do for her.
