All Too Consuming
Diana McIntosh

This theatrical piece uses text from the poem It says I can eat all I want by Peter Christensen. The piece explores the senses of someone who is indulging in a glorious and extravagant meal. I feel there are many ways to interpret this piece, however I have found myself leaning in the direction of someone who finally gives in, or succumbs to temptation, whether that be an actual meal, or something bigger. I find that this work has an entertaining interplay between performer and the accompanying track. What I enjoy most about this piece is that I have not necessarily been considering this a “percussion” work, but rather just a solo work, which holds a different set of challenges than other works I have played.
