Ruth Castellano is a mezzo-soprano originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She is a sophomore currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a voice emphasis. She currently studies voice under Natalie Conte and previously studied under Kristen Zlogar for five years. She is involved in a variety of musical groups at Shenandoah University including Shenandoah Chorus, Conservatory Choir, Marching Band and Pep Band. She also traveled to Venice, Italy in September to perform with fellow choir members in the Venice Biennale Festival. This is her first time performing in an opera and she is thankful for the opportunity to try new things. Ruth would like to thank her family, friends and directors for supporting her throughout this process.
