David Schoonover is a first-year Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance (Voice) student in the studio of Dr. Byron Jones. He earned his Master of Music in voice performance from George Mason University and his Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He received first place at the Virginia National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition in the Classical Advanced College Men’s category. David's past roles include Billy in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, Schunard in Puccini’s La Bohème, and the title role in Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
