Taylor Losey is a trumpet player from Leslie, MI. Although she is classically trained, she has plenty of experience performing various other genres such as jazz, pops, musicals, brass quintet, and many others. Taylor received her Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University in 2021, where she studied Trumpet Performance with professors Scott Thornburg and Dr. Robert White. Taylor received her Master’s Degree from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2024, where she studied Trumpet Performance with professor Mary Elizabeth Bowden.
Taylor was a part of the Shenandoah Conservatory Orchestra 2023 Argentina Tour, where the orchestra performed Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in five different Argentinian cities. Taylor was also a part of the Shenandoah Studio Big Band 2024 Peru tour, where the SBB performed gigs across five different Peruvian cities, including performing a gig alongside the famous Gabriel Alegria Afro-Peruvian Sextet. Along with performing, Taylor teaches trumpet lessons at two community music schools in the Winchester, VA area.
Taylor has performed the shows: Hello Dolly!, Sweet Charity, Tuck Everlasting, Into the Woods, and The Addams Family. Out of this selection, her favorite has to be Tuck Everlasting, but after this show, who’s to say?
