Dolly made her 15th appearance on the SSMT boards this summer with her portrayal of “Yente” in Fiddler on the Roof. Other favorite SSMT appearances include Mrs. Lovett/Sweeney Todd (16), Mama Rose/Gypsy (91), Dolly/Hello Dolly! (86, 96), Wicked Witch/Wizard of Oz (98, the premiere show in Ohrstom-Bryant Theatre), Mrs. Meers/Thoroughly Modern Millie (07), Carmen/Curtains (11), Miss Hannigan/Annie (01), and Mama Morton/Chicago (05). Dolly is the first graduate of Shenandoah’s musical theatre program, under the tutelage of the late, great Hal Herman. Her 44-year career has been wonderfully filled with acting gigs, as well as directing, teaching and writing –all in service of, for and to the theatre. In 2018, Dolly was awarded Shenandoah University’s Distinguished Alumna Award for Lifetime Achievement. Many thanks to the powers that be for having me back “where I belong”!
