A Shenandoah Conservatory alumnus, Garrett is a theatre and music educator and is thrilled to be back home with SSMT, having served last year as music supervisor for the 2023 season. In recent years with SSMT, he was also music director for 2022’s production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and conductor for 42nd Street and Grease. Garrett has worked throughout the NoVA and DC area at the community, educational, and regional levels as a music director, audition pianist, keyboard programmer, vocal coach, and pit musician, as well as serving as a guest artist with organizations such as Adventure Theatre MTC, Creative Stages, Shenandoah University, and the Virginia Thespian Festival. He is currently staff accompanist at Millbrook High School and theatre music director for John Handley High School here in Winchester, and occasionally performs around the area both as a soloist and with group shows, notably Robbie Limon’s Buddy Holly and Hank Williams/Patsy Cline tribute shows. 

Other notable music direction credits: The Spitfire Grill (Winchester Little Theatre); The Apple Tree, A Killer Party (Shenandoah University); Grease, The Color Purple, La Cage aux Folles, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (DC regional premiere), Some Enchanted Evening, Sister Act (DC regional premiere), The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber (Riverside Center for the Performing Arts); Monsters of the Villa Diodati (Creative Cauldron).
