Frostiana is a choral suite composed in 1959 by Randall Thompson (1899–1984), based on the poetry of Robert Frost (1874–1963). Commissioned for the bicentennial celebration of Amherst, Massachusetts, the suite captures the natural imagery and philosophical reflections of Frost's poetry through Thompson's lyrical, accessible compositional style. Two of its most evocative movements are ‘The Pasture’ and ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.’
