Melissa Flower
Playwright

Melissa Flower is a freelance director, collaborator, performance artist, and dramaturg. She is currently works as a research assistant to Richard Schechner for his work on the Ramlila of Ramnagar.   She is the Director of Communications at Luciole International Theatre Company and sits on the board of Wordsmyth Theatre.  She served as the Literary Assistant at the Alley Theatre in 2012.  Her directing credits include: The Return of Sherlock Holmes at Classical Theatre Company, Cassandra at Mildred’s Umbrella, Big Love at Theatre B in Fargo, among others. Her performance/devising credits include Things Missing/Missed and Hypocrite at Obsidian Theatre. Her primary performance art credits include: Memory in the Time of the Refugee at Dixon Place, Transitions I and II and Pangea. Melissa has trained with the SITI Company for 8 years.  She has also trained in Toga, Japan with the SCOT Company and studied with Double Edge Theatre in Ashfield, MA. She holds a Masters in Dramaturgy from the University of Houston.
