Andres Estevez began his training in Havana, Cuba, and joined Ballet Nacional de Cuba under Alicia Alonso. He later joined Ballet Clasico de la Havana under Laura Alonso, becoming a principal dancer. Estevez toured internationally and won silver and bronze medals in The Alicia Alonso competition in Cuba.
In 1996, he joined Miami City Ballet under Edward Villella, performing in many Balanchine choreographies. In 1998, he became Principal Dancer at Orlando Ballet under Fernando Bujones, performing roles in La Bayadere, Giselle, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Spartacus, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Raymonda, Sleeping Beauty, Midsummer Night Dreams, Camelot, and more. He also worked with choreographers like Twyla Tharp and Val Caniparoli.
In 2009, Estevez joined BalletMet, performing classical, Balanchine, and contemporary repertoire, including works by Edwaard Liang. He received the Violetta Boft Memorial award in his first year. After retiring in 2017, he became Associate Director of BalletMet 2 and was promoted to Company Rehearsal Director in 2018. Estevez has served as a jury member in several ballet competitions and has staged Edwaard Liang ballets in various companies.
