Teresa Houston returns to Weathervane after 30 years; however, this show marks 71 Stark/Summit productions for her, including the former Carousel Dinner Theatre, Canton Players Guild, KSU-Stark, Alliance Carnation Players, Hudson Players, Canton Comic Opera and Goodyear Community Theater. Her favorite leading roles were in Gypsy, West Side Story, Oklahoma!, The Music Man, The King and I, Show Boat, and Hello, Dolly! Most recently she was featured in the Canton Players Guild musicals Sister Act (Mary Lazarus), The Full Monty, All Shook Up, Hairspray, Little Women, Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde, and Titanic. Teresa plays clarinet in several Stark Concert bands, and has been solo vocalist on their Pops/Jazz/Operetta programs. A Frito-Lay retiree, she met husband Merle Smith on stage in 1992. They sing in Canton’s Christ Presbyterian Church Choir.
