The Longmont Youth Symphony is a community-based musical organization featuring young musicians from the St. Vrain Valley and surrounding areas. LYS welcomes all elementary, middle, and high school musicians to audition; students need not be Longmont residents.

LYS Consists of Three Ensembles:

• Longmont Youth Strings Ensemble (LYSE): Our preparatory strings-only orchestra.
• Longmont Youth Symphonic Band (LYSB): Our wind and brass ensemble.
• Longmont Youth Symphony Orchestra (LYSO): Our honors symphony orchestra (including string, wind, brass and percussion) for advanced student musicians.
