On the night of their senior prom, Libby Ruth, Deedra, Monette and Charlie promise that they will be bridesmaids in one another’s weddings… no matter what. Now, more than thirty years later, these Southern gals are still making “the long walk” for each other, determined to honor that vow. ‘For better or for worse’ takes on a whole new meaning in this delicious comedy about old friends.
ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
This play is a celebration of forever friends. You know the ones. The ones who you call and, no matter how long it’s been since you’ve spoken, you pick up right where you left off. The friends who know your deepest secrets and swear they will take those secrets to the grave. The friends who will drop everything and drive through the night to be with you when you need them. The ones you learned your alphabet with, hung out at prom with, and partied (I mean, studied…) in college with. The first ones you call with big news—you’re pregnant! You passed the bar exam! You’re moving to Colorado! You met that right person and they proposed! And the ones you want by your side when it matters the most.
Let’s treasure these friends in our own lives, laugh with (and at) them, and love them as much as we can.
