Director's Note

In 1934, the world stood poised between World Wars, and a beautiful train filled with travelers rushed through the night. But there were secrets on board the train, as well, and a mystery unfurled that would change lives forever.

Even Hercule Poirot, the great detective, is changed by his attempt to solve this crime. He has spent his life drawing a clear line between right and wrong, seeing the truth in black and white-- and with this case, he comes face to face with the gray of the human heart.

Today, at another moment in history where battle lines seem clearly drawn, we, too, have to reckon with the gray. What secrets live in us that make us reach past our differences? And what will we do when faced with something that calls what we have always believed into question? We, like Poirot, will have to answer these questions as the world changes around us.
