Welcome to our 32nd annual Summer Youth Theatre production...an event that always puts a smile on my face!
Just before school got out in June, the amazing group of young people involved in this production started rehearsing, building and painting scenery, helping with costumes and lighting, selling ads, etc., and will be "running" the show.
This program is very important to all of us at Curtain Call. Helping prepare another generation is exciting and, for most of us, reminds us of our beginnings.
My first summer theatre experience as an actor was in 1973 and I am still friends with several members of that production. We know that theatre friends are the best and are happy to share in the joy of creating these lasting relationships!
We know that the many skills developed over the course of the summer are invaluable. Theatre is a collaborative art, and much like organized sports, teaches the value of teamwork, the ability to stand in front of an audience, and much more - all skills helpful in life whether pursuing a career in the theatre or not.
To the families of our young participants - THANK YOU for supporting them this summer. We know that it can be challenging to fit the rigorous rehearsal schedule into what is often, a more laid back summer routine. We hope you all appreciate the work your kids have put into this great show.
And great shows are what we work on all year. Beginning next month, we'll kick off our 32nd season with Neil Simon's Laughter on the 23rd Floor, followed immediately by the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, CABARET. Our entire season is listed in this program. We hope you'll come back and see some of the shows we have on tap. Our five, seven and 10-ticket FLEX PASSES, offer significant savings (and restaurant discounts), and more, making regular attendance here very reasonable indeed.
For now, sit back, relax and enjoy this Musical Theatre gem – The Pajama Game.

Curtain Call, Inc.
Friends and family,
I am overjoyed to welcome you to The Pajama Game, Curtain Call’s 32nd Summer Youth Theater production! On behalf of everyone involved, I am truly delighted that you were able to join us today.
For those new to SYT, allow me to introduce ourselves! We are a group of performers and techies ranging entering fourth grade through twenty-one who devote our summer to staging a full scale musical. This year has been special for many reasons, but as a bit of a theatrical encyclopedia myself, it has been a joy sharing Golden Age theatre with those who might not have been as familiar with it. Beyond the material itself, the process of witnessing each person put their unique stamp on their role and make the material their own has been remarkable. It goes to show that even an older piece can become new again and resonate with all age groups. At its core, The Pajama Game is about a group of people overcoming the challenges they are faced with and fighting for what they have rightly earned. I hope anyone involved in this production (onstage, backstage, or in the audience) carries that with them beyond the “seven-and-a-half cents” you are going to hear about in today’s performance.
I would be remiss if I went any further without thanking some brilliant people, as without their hard work, none of what you are about to see would be possible. Thank you to our fearless director, Madison Coppola. This production wouldn’t have become what it is without your creativity, encouragement, bright energy, and SYT-alumna passion at every single rehearsal. Thank you to our music director, Matt Stolfi, and our choreographer, Anne-Marie Gerard Galler. The detail and care placed into each harmony and eight count are reflective of the care that you have bestowed in this show. Thank you to our associate producer, Grady Dennis, and our SYT board advisor, Lauren Gulliver-Travers, for your dedication to making sure we all feel seen, heard, and valued. Our design and technical team put painstaking effort into the sets, costumes, lighting, and sound design you are about to experience. Thank you to Jourdan Miller, Evan Brenner, Megan Latte Morello, Jamie LaJoie, and all the volunteers who helped paint sets and hem skirts. Thank you to our indestructible stage management team: Molly Emmens, Halle Hart, Lana Busch, and Laura Sanchez. The four of you coordinated what could have been a massively chaotic situation and made it flow seamlessly. Thank you to the 2021-2022 SYT Board, especially my fellow seniors for rounding out this journey with me and a huge shout-out to Maddy Galgano for being the most wonderful vice-president I could ever hope for. Thank you to our Education Director Brian Bianco for always emphasizing the learning aspect of this program. I hope you know how much all of your wisdom and perseverance is appreciated. As always, thank you to our Executive Producer Lou Ursone for giving us young people a forum to do what we love and supporting us wholeheartedly.
If I’m being honest, there are no words that express how lucky I feel to have been a part of this community. I have grown exponentially as an artist and as a human being in ten summers of rehearsals, bobby pins, and spike tape, six years of monthly meetings and afternoons spent running around the property doing odd jobs, and two years of coming into my own as a leader. I am forever grateful for the second home Curtain Call has become for me. I would not be the person I am today without it. I've never been particularly good at goodbyes, so I will be candid in refusing to make this letter into one. Instead, I would like to send out one last thank you (among the sea of them you have already seen) to everyone reading this letter for supporting young artists. It means more than you could possibly know. With that, enjoy The Pajama Game!
With a full heart,
