Annual Meeting
February 15 - 21, 2024
Welcome to our Annual Meeting
We are thrilled to have you join us as we reflect and celebrate the theme of “connection” and its power in propelling the District forward. It fills us with immense pride to see the significant strides we have taken in strengthening our bonds with District partners, businesses, and valued guests. Read on to discover a few highlights of this memorable year.

New Website
Our revamped coliseumcentral.com is the ultimate online destination for businesses and visitors alike. A few of our favorite features?  Personalized business pages allow each district business to showcase their unique offerings, including detailed descriptions, hours of operation, captivating photos, videos, and interactive maps. A job board makes it effortless for businesses to share their openings and connect with talented individuals. The enhanced event calendar, seasonal guides and trip planner ensure guests never miss out on exciting local happenings. These elements and more make our website a perfect blend of B2B and B2C offerings.

Virtual Tour
With the introduction of our Vistity virtual reality tour, we have revolutionized the way visitors can explore the district. This immersive 360-degree experience, featuring areas and businesses throughout, seamlessly integrates videos, photos, and detailed descriptions to provide a comprehensive and captivating journey. The tour allows guests to feel truly connected and engaged and serves as a powerful economic development tool in promoting the district and its offerings.

Enhanced Security
License plate readers have been strategically placed in our district, revolutionizing public safety and crime-solving efforts by efficiently capturing key information. These cameras ensure continuous surveillance and provide real-time alerts. The Hampton Police Division has been able to leverage this technology to solve numerous criminal cases, improving overall safety within our community.
Further, the implementation of quarterly retail and hospitality security meetings serve to discuss security observations and trends with key stakeholders.

Signature Events
The free Neighborhood Night Out Health & Safety Fair celebrated its 20th anniversary, attracting over 1,000 event goers. With the participation of 42 businesses, community partners, organizations, and first responder groups, the fair provided valuable health, safety and emergency preparedness information. Attendees enjoyed a range of activities, including inflatables, face painting, games, vehicle displays and a DJ, while also exploring vendor booths . Governor Glenn Youngkin and local dignitaries also joined the festivities.

The 2nd Annual Whimsical Winter Wonderland transformed the Hampton Coliseum into a festive holiday experience. This year, the event expanded to utilize outdoor space, allowing for additional entertainment options. The best part? The event was free and open to the public, welcoming over 5,000 attendees. With the support of nine sponsors, the event offered more than 20 activities for kids and kids-at-heart, including inflatables, a petting zoo, DJ performances, mesmerizing aerialists, captivating stage shows, enchanting princess meet and greets, sensory room and a thrilling carnival midway. It truly provided a magical experience.
