Comeback Celebration Welcome

Welcome to the 95th Season of the Philharmonic.  We come together again for an experience like no other – the transformative power of live music.

This Comeback Celebration begins our season journey.  The opening composition, Scott Ordway’s In the Kingdom of Bells, envisions an emotional world of sound, an “… occasion of such overwhelming and universal joy that we, the community of humanity, organize a global festival of bells as the only commensurate response.”

Brahms’ Haydn Variations continues the theme of music as a uniting force, inspiring one critic at the premiere to poetically declare that “Brahms seems to us now like a robust tree standing in full sap, whose green branches are stretching ever higher and wider, bearing ever more abundant, sweeter fruits.” And our program concludes with an unforgettable performance by Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Yekwon Sunwoo – Rachmaninoff’s brilliant Third Piano Concerto.

Thank you for being a part of this Comeback Celebration – for making unforgettable memories with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.  This is just the beginning.
