The musicians of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic are back in action, delivering thrilling entertainment this season. In fact, they are the stars of tonight’s concert. They’ve assembled to offer a full array of Pops magic as a heartfelt gift to you and a breathtaking celebration of live performance.
In the months ahead, the Philharmonic Pops season continues with long-awaited concerts. In March, it’s the music of Ray Charles, Motown and Beyond, which stars Ellis Hall (nicknamed “The Godfather of Soul”) as front man backed by our own very soulful Philharmonic. Then, in April our stage hosts a live cinema event, Raiders of the Lost Ark – John Williams swashbuckling score accompanies the film screened in its entirety above the stage. This May, the Pops season concludes with a flash of brilliance – vocalists Capathia Jenkins and Matthew Johnson join the Philharmonic for Aretha: Queen of Soul, featuring a full lineup of Aretha Franklin’s biggest chart-topping hits including “Respect,” “Rescue Me,” and many more.
We welcome you back to the Philharmonic Pops and look forward to the musical adventures ahead.
