  • Dracula by Bram Stoker is published.

 

1922

  • The earliest film retelling of Dracula, Nosferatu, premieres. This unauthorized adaptation helped shape the popular image of the vampire and became the subject of a copyright lawsuit brought by Bram Stoker’s estate.

 

1931

  • Universal Studios’ Dracula premieres. One of Universal’s iconic monster movies, this film established the look and movements of Dracula that remain most familiar today.

 

1964-1966

  • The classic sitcom The Munsters airs on CBS. Dracula becomes Grandpa Munster to a family full of iconic movie monsters. The show ran for 2 years and has had multiple reboots since!

 

1986

  • The first game in the Castlevania series is released. The game follows Simon Belmont on his quest to kill Dracula. The franchise continues to this day with numerous spinoffs, including comics and a Netflix series.  

 

1992

  • Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula hits theaters, delivering the most faithful and visually stunning version of the classic tale. The star studded cast includes Winona Ryder, Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, and Keanu Reeves!

2023

  • The comedy Renfield is released. This humorous take on the story follows Dracula’s servant Renfield in a modern setting and stars Nicolas Cage as Dracula.

 

2023

  • Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors has its Off-Broadway premiere. This over-the-top, laugh-out-loud funny version of the story awaits you tonight!

  • Dracula by Bram Stoker is published.

 

1922

  • The earliest film retelling of Dracula, Nosferatu, premieres. This unauthorized adaptation helped shape the popular image of the vampire and became the subject of a copyright lawsuit brought by Bram Stoker’s estate.

 

1931

  • Universal Studios’ Dracula premieres. One of Universal’s iconic monster movies, this film established the look and movements of Dracula that remain most familiar today.

 

1964-1966

  • The classic sitcom The Munsters airs on CBS. Dracula becomes Grandpa Munster to a family full of iconic movie monsters. The show ran for 2 years and has had multiple reboots since!

 

1986

  • The first game in the Castlevania series is released. The game follows Simon Belmont on his quest to kill Dracula. The franchise continues to this day with numerous spinoffs, including comics and a Netflix series.  

 

1992

  • Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula hits theaters, delivering the most faithful and visually stunning version of the classic tale. The star studded cast includes Winona Ryder, Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, and Keanu Reeves!

2023

  • The comedy Renfield is released. This humorous take on the story follows Dracula’s servant Renfield in a modern setting and stars Nicolas Cage as Dracula.

 

2023

  • Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors has its Off-Broadway premiere. This over-the-top, laugh-out-loud funny version of the story awaits you tonight!
