Welcome from the Music Director

Ladies and Gentlemen and Children of All ages.....

The thematic approach to programming that the KSO adopted at the beginning (1992), has allowed us to explore history and the nostalgia of culture and entertainment through various periods and genres of music. Last week we presented our annual Black History Month program “Rag to Riches” to schools, highlighting the roots of America’s popular musical heritage (1898-1933).  Tonight we focus on two icons of the world of film and live entertainment — Charles Chaplin and P.T. Barnum.

I hope KSO musicians and audiences over these last 30 years have appreciated our penchant for relating the backstory of artists, composers and entrepreneurs who created a plethora and variety of amazing music, style, tradition and showmanship, which continue to inspire, enrich, and entertain us today.

Enjoy the show.

James R. Cassidy,
Music Director
