Serenity Flores is a mezzo-soprano originally from Springfield, Virginia. She is currently in her senior year pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at Shenandoah Conservatory, studying with Dr. Fotina Naumenko. Operatic appearances at Shenandoah include portraying Milin in Shostakovich’s Moscow, Cheryomushki, Amy Winehouse in an original production Caged Birds, Moth in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Hannah Wiener in Philip Glass’s Hydrogen Jukebox. Currently, she is the cover for Mrs. Quickly in Verdi’s Falstaff. Previously, she portrayed Mother Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites. In addition to singing, Serenity is a skilled harpist and has previously performed with Shenandoah Conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
Serenity Flores is from the studio of Fotina Naumenko. This recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Voice).
