Jane Gowen, soprano, is a natural story-teller with a rich history in classical, musical theatre, jazz, and choral styles. She holds a Bachelor of Science in music education and will graduate with a Master of Music in vocal performance in May. She has studied voice with Fotina Naumenko, Melissa McCann and Youna Hartgraves. Her most notable performances have included Die Fledermaus (Adele) and Pirates of Penzance (Edith). She also debuted with the Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra in their 2022 production of Così fan tutte (Despina).
Jane rocked out for four years in the regionally touring Vocal Jazz Ensemble of University of Mary and is a recurring performer in North Dakota’s only professional vocal ensemble: Dakota Pro Musica. Also a budding composer, she occasionally shares original music in various intimate settings.
Jane is a state- and regional-level winner and national qualifier in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) student auditions in both the classical and musical theatre categories. She recently music directed Frozen Jr. with Huzzah! theatre at the Independent School of Winchester—one of her most fulfilling experiences yet.
Jane Gowen is from the studio of Fotina Naumenko. This recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Master of Music in Performance (Voice).
