Biography

Julia Derflinger’s recent credits include being a featured monologist and ensemble member of Shenandoah Conservatory’s Native American Inspirations world premiere in the Venice Biennale Musica, both assistant directing/costume coordinating under Ella Marchment and performing in Shenandoah Conservatory opera’s  Hydrogen Jukebox, Gothic Opera and The New World of Opera productions, co-directing the OPERAtunity Mozart Scenes Production and covering Hermia in Shenandoah Conservatory opera’s Spring 2023 A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

She would most specifically like to thank her role model Ella Marchment for never giving up on her potential and seeing her through to her successes, and Nancy Gustafson for opening her eyes to positive teaching and a joyful and refreshing approach to a life in opera. Thank you all for supporting her today!
