IGNITE: DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to Out of My Dreams, the third installment in a series of PPC Showcases. Each year, Showcase is a joy and privilege to present—offering audiences a window into the incredible dedication, growth, and artistry of our students. As the culminating production of the conservatory portion of the PPC curriculum, Showcase provides a vital bridge between the classroom and the professional world. In this environment, students experience the realities of working on a professional musical production while still benefiting from the safety and support of an educational setting. They learn to navigate the complexities of advanced choreography, storytelling, and music while having the opportunity to engage with Guest Artists and Designers. Most importantly, they develop an understanding of how to work as a team, leaving the process more connected, polished, prepared, and confident. This experience equips them to uphold the PPC standard of professionalism and artistry in any performance space they encounter.

Out of My Dreams continues a narrative journey we began two years ago with Invincible, which explored the path from isolation to community, from personal setbacks toward hope and connection. Last year’s Stronger picked up the story the morning after Invincible, asking: “What if you could start again—and this time, get it right? Or at least… better?”

This year, we enter the world of dreams—the subconscious space where we begin to make sense of all we’ve been through. Dreams are the mind’s way of sorting, shedding, and assimilating. Out of My Dreams takes place the night after Stronger, as we process fears and aspirations, joy and sorrow, gain and loss—the excitement and hesitation that come with moving forward. Through this dreamscape, our students explore the full spectrum of the human experience, using their voices, bodies, and imaginations to tell stories that live beyond words.

It has been a joy and an honor to create this trilogy of original works alongside our students and creative team. I am deeply grateful to our audience for bearing witness to this journey. Who knows what new adventures tomorrow will bring?
