Sofia Johnson was raised in Palmetto, Florida, and began dancing at Diane Partington’s Studio of Classical Ballet. After graduating High School, Sofia was accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the direction of Susan Jaffe, where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in classical ballet. Some of her performance highlights during her time at UNCSA include, Snow Queen and Dewdrop in Ilya Kozadayev’s The Nutcracker, the Waltz Girl in George Balanchine's Serenade, and a part in a new ballet, The Next Stop Is…, by Tom Gold. Sofia is incredibly grateful for the opportunities she has been presented with as a student and is excited to begin her professional career with Alabama Ballet.
