Ashley Eichbauer Newman (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist. Ashley was on faculty at CAP21 for fifteen years and was the Chair of Dance for three years, working with students from NYU and Molloy University. For ten years, she has been a dance teaching artist for Lincoln Center and she is also currently a Dance Curriculum Specialist at The Juilliard School, working in K-12 schools around the world. Ashley is a graduate from NYU with a B.F.A. in Theatre and double major in History and earned her M.S. Ed. in Middle School General and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. Ashley is a RYT-200 certified yoga teacher and certified in Zena Rommett Floor-Barre©. In 2007, she was a founding dancer of The Chase Brock Experience where she performed extensively throughout NYC and around the country and is currently serving as the company’s Associate Artistic Director. Other professional performance credits include Paper Mill Playhouse (NJ), Pittsburgh CLO (PA), Baltimore Center Stage (MD), Broadway Palm (FL), Busch Gardens Williamsburg (VA) and So You Think You Can Dance (3rd season). She has choreographed at Temple University, Barnard College, Marymount Manhattan College, and Molloy University. Ashley was Associate Choreographer for Disney’s Hercules at The Public Theater and the video game Dance on Broadway for Wii & PlayStation Move. She is featured in the documentary Chasing Dance. Ashley is thrilled to join the Dance Department at SHU and looks forward to wondering, reflecting, and learning alongside the Performing Arts community on campus and beyond. And she is excited to bring her awesome husband, incredible son, and sweet pup along for the ride!
