REBECCA CAMPBELL
Singer

Rebecca Campbell is a freelance singer, musician, songwriter, arranger, producer, and arts worker. She plays Stella guitar, percussion, harmonica, and melodica. But mostly, she sings. She creates music in multiple genres, both up front and backup. Her contributions are always joyful, generous, intentional, honest, visceral, political, poetical, and emotionally engaged. She is an interpreter and a collaborator, with an empathetic harmonic sensibility and a deep groove.

Bred in the Maritimes and Ottawa, and based briefly in Montreal, Rebecca has called Toronto home since 1996. She has performed alongside countless individuals and ensembles for over three decades, on stages large and tiny, across Canada, the US, and the world. Her voice has graced the big and small screen, her choral arrangements have been sung by choirs across the world, and she has sung on over 120 recordings. When not making music, Rebecca produces and stage manages live events, she creates graphic art, she serves on The TRANZAC Board of Directors, she hosts and techs rehearsals at Ratspace Rehearsal and Recording, and when necessary, she can be found out on the streets, speaking truth to power.

Notable musical collaborations include Jane Siberry, Lynn Miles, the SPECIAL INTEREST Group, Collette Savard and The Savants, Sultans of String, Justin Haynes, Frank Patrick and Soul Medicine, Ben Sures, Radio Dial, Hold The Bus, Isabel and The Uncommons, Megan Jerome Together Ensemble, Bec and Rusty, Fat Man Waving, Three Sheets To The Wind, Royal Ottawa, Ian Tamblyn, The Black Donnellys, Parachute Club, Porkbelly Futures, Microbunny, Carol Ann Weaver, Meredith Monk, Ernest Ranglin, Jay Douglas, The Woodchoppers Association, and many more. Each one has been raised up and illuminated by her presence.
