Carla Risch Chaffin, B.F.A., M.F.A., is an award-winning Set Designer and Scenic Artist, working in theater, ballet, opera, TV, and industrial theater. Ms. Chaffin’s creative relationship with BalletMet spans decades and includes being Charge Artist and Scenic Designer for many productions including the designs for Beauty and The Beast, Dangerous Liaisons, Romeo and Juliet, Carmen, Butterfly, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Swan Lake. Ms. Chaffin has also designed and painted multiple shows for Columbus Children’s Theatre, C.A.T.C.O. and Colleges and Universities. 

She is the winner of multiple Peggy Ezekiel Awards for Excellence in Design and is honored to have been featured on G.C.A.C.’s website, ColumbusMakesArt.com. Her most recent work includes the set design and painting of The New Albany Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Ms. Chaffin currently serves as Charge Scenic Artist and Adjunct Professor of Scenic Design and Scenic Painting at The Ohio State University. Her online portfolio can be seen at www.carlachaffin.com.
