Basil Twist is proud to return to the ballet world. Previous ballets include The Nutcracker (Joffrey Ballet Chicago), The Winter’s Tale (Royal Opera House), and Cinderella (Dutch National Ballet), all with Christopher Wheeldon. Twist’s wide-ranging work is revitalizing puppetry as a serious and sophisticated stand-alone art form and establishing it as an integral element in contemporary theater, dance, and music. Other credits: Broadway; The Addams Family (Drama Desk Award), The Pee Wee Herman Show, Oh Hello, and the upcoming Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Original creations; Symphonie Fantastique, Petrushka, La Bella Dormente Nel Bosco, Dogugaeshi, Behind The Lid, Arias with a Twist, Seafoam Sleepwalk, The Rite of Spring, and Sister's Follies. Scenic Design highlights include Hansel & Gretel (Houston Grand Opera & Atlanta Opera) and A Streetcar Named Desire for The Comedie Francaise. He lives in NYC, where he leads The Dream Music Puppetry Program at HERE Arts Center.
