Liz Vandal started her career as a self-taught fashion designer in 1988, bringing her originality to dance, circus and films. She has collaborated with choreographers and dance companies around the world like Marie Chouinard, Kevin O’Day, Septime Webre, Paris Opera Ballet and Stuttgart Ballet. Vandal designed flamboyant costumes for Cirque du Soleil’s productions of OVO, Viaggio, Sonor, Cosmos and Excentick. She also created 3,000 costumes for the 2015 European Games’ closing ceremony in Azerbaijan. Vandal’s 20 years collaboration continues with Artistic director Septime Webre with The Wizard of Oz (Kansas City Ballet) and ALICE (in wonderland) (Hong Kong Ballet), for which she won the Award of Best Costume Design at the Hong Kong Dance Awards and also merited a nomination at Les Benois de la Danse. Last but not least, Webre’s Peter premiered in August 2019 in Hong Kong, with Vandal original designs.
