Jack Mehler is very pleased to be returning to BalletMet, having previously designed lighting for Cinderella (2015), Sleeping Beauty, Twisted 2, Airavata, as well as scenery and lighting for Giselle. Other projects with Edwaard Liang include Symphonic Dances for San Francisco Ballet and Woven Dreams for Joffrey Ballet. He received the 2012 Korean Musical Theatre Award (Korean Tony) for Elisabeth and the 2013 award for Rebecca. He has also received IRNE (Boston) and Gypsy (Seattle) nominations. Other dance work includes Atlanta Ballet, Austin Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Donald Byrd/Spectrum, Buglisi Dance Theatre, Ballet Memphis, Houston Ballet, Hubbard Street, Joffrey Ballet, Lar Lubovitch, and many others. Theatre work includes Cleveland Play House, North Shore Music Theatre, Paper Mill Playhouse, Riverside Theatre, Seattle Rep, and Walnut Street Theatre, among many others. He is a founding board member of ACT of Connecticut and provides design coordination/owner’s representation for arts organizations building or renovating performance and rehearsal facilities.
