Les Dickert designs for a diverse range of live performance, spanning contemporary and Shakespearean theater, modern dance, classical ballet, and international performance art. Recent activity includes Spiraling Down (Yvonne Rainer / LA RedCat), Largo (Lucinda Childs / Joyce Theater), Hamlet, Othello, and Twelfth Night (Shakespeare and Company), Mediterranea (Tulsa Ballet), The Diary of Anne Frank (Syracuse Stage), and The Absent Lover (thresh). He has designed at numerous international dance venues including the Edinburgh International Festival, Sadler’s Wells, International Buda Stage, MC93 Paris, Izmir Dance Festival, IIT Madras, and META Delhi. In the United States, he has designed for the ballet companies of Tulsa, Portland, Pennsylvania, Miami, Westchester, and Kansas City, as well as Jacob’s Pillow, The Kennedy Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Great Lakes Theater Festival, Geva Theater, Portland Stage, and others. Mr. Dickert recently received the Mahindra Excellence in Theater Award for best lighting in India The Absent Lover. Les is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
