Bold, curious, and radiant, Clothilde Benard is a soprano who does more than sing—she tells stories, explores, and transcends. Born in Reims, she weaves her musical journey like an adventure, where each note is a stop and every stage, a world to conquer.
Her love for music was born from the echoes of great voices and the thrill of her first operatic emotions. She immersed herself in singing early on at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Reims, later refining her craft at the Département Supérieur pour Jeunes Chanteurs in Paris. There, she developed a unique vocal language, blending raw emotion with technical precision.
Her admission to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, in Chantal Mathias’ class, was a turning point. Clothilde shaped a voice that seeks not to impress but to move—one that captures and transforms. Her journey continued in New York at the Manhattan School of Music, where she embraced new ways of inhabiting sound.
Beyond interpretation, she creates universes. With pianist Park Jiyeong, she envisions Carnet de Voyage, an intimate performance turning her grandmother’s memories into melodies, colors, and scents, set for 2025.
Her passion for reinvention drives her further: Fées des Champs, the festival she founded and directs, will celebrate voice, nature, and connection in 2025.
A lover of languages—fluent in German, learning Korean—she moves through cultures as she does through music, in search of new sounds and emotions. Between tradition and modernity, exploration and roots, Clothilde Culeux is an artist of journeys, moments, and resonance.
