Yajiao Liang
Piano

Yajiao Liang(she/her/hers) was born in Guizhou, a beautiful ethnic minority autonomous region in China in 2004. She studied piano at the age of 7. In 2017, she was admitted to the High School Affiliated to Wuhan Conservatory of Music. She studied piano with Professor XiaoFeng Zheng of Wuhan Conservatory of Music. Currently an undergraduate piano student at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. The tutor is Professor Dror Biran.

During her time at Wuhan Conservatory of Music, she had excellent academic performance and won many cultural and professional scholarships. She was recommended by the school to participate in master classes many times, and actively participated in various piano competitions and achieved excellent results. She actively participated in various music activities and art festivals outside school, and was invited to perform in public on many occasions. She has participated in many school activities and received guidance from many experts, such as Professor Alexandr Fomenko and Professor Andrey Shibko of the Moscow Conservatory of Music, young pianist Wei Luo, Professor Weiling Chen of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Professor Xie Chengfeng, a Steinway artist, and Spanish piano master Lenonel ·Morales, Professor Alex Poliykov of Boston Conservatory of Music, Professor Emile Naoumoff and Professor Arnaldo Cohen of Indiana University School of Music, Professor Peter Takacs of Oberlin Conservatory of Music and other masters have given careful guidance and received high praise. In 2023, she won admission and scholarships from many well-known music conservatories in the United States with her outstanding results. At the same time, she was the only piano student at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music to receive a highest scholarship in 2023.

She has won honors in many Chinese piano competitions, including KAWAI Asian Piano Competition, Shanghai International Youth Piano Competition, Macau-Asia Pacific Youth Competition, Liszt International Youth Piano Competition, Yangtze River Piano Youth Piano Competition, Pearl River Kaiserburg International Youth Competition Piano competition and so on. Recently won the Organizing Committee of the EleventhInternational Online JSFest 2023 Instrumental Music Competition First Place. 2024 Pacific Star International Piano Competition professional artist category special prize.

In her spare time, she works as a teaching assistant at Yinkeke Institution to teach children piano in China, and teaches left-behind children in remote areas such as China’s ethnic minority area in Guizhou to learn music knowledge in her hometown. She also likes reading, watching movies, swimming, traveling and eating delicious food.
