Jamily Lee, 19, born in Taiwan, started violin at 7. She has played in orchestras ever since, such as Golden State Youth Orchestra (GSYO) from 2016 to 2021 and the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra in the violin from 2021-2024.
In her competitions, she earned a gold prize in the U.S. Open Music Competition (2023), first place in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition (2022), and was selected as the soloist for the Senior Symphony of GSYO (2021). Jamily also enjoyed playing for some of the most prestigious violinists. For instance, she has played for Ilya Kaler, Regis Pasquier, Frank Huang, and Cho-Liang Lin, as well as Midori herself. In the summer of 2023, she played as concertmaster for a children’s concert during a six-week festival at Round Top Festival Institute. And a year prior to that, she participated in the Sounding Point Academy at the Colburn School and the Taipei Music Academy and Festival (TMAF).
Jamily currently studies violin performance under Varty Manouelian and Movses Pogossian in their dual studio. She hopes to become a professional orchestral player and a private lessons instructor.
