Alexio Ciorra is a double bassist and current graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, pursuing a Master of Music degree studying under Micah Howard. His previous education includes a Bachelor of Music degree from The Pennsylvania State University, studying under Dr. Patricia Weitzel, along with receiving a Certificate of Business. 
 
Alexio has performed on tours across the United States, Canada, Italy, and Spain. Such experiences included being principal bassist of the PRISMA Festival Orchestra, member of Varna International Music Academy, LEAD Co-operative member of Wintergreen Music Festival, and performances with celebrated American opera singer and Metropolitan Opera Award-winner Deidra Palmour. Other previous performance opportunities include being a member of the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra, Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, Altoona Symphony Orchestra, principal bassist of the Penn State Philharmonic, bassist of Centre Dimensions big band, and vocalist of the Penn State Concert Choir.  
 
Other administrative positions held by Alexio include being the Graduate Assistant and Manager of the Carnegie Mellon Contemporary Ensemble and Repertoire Orchestra, founding member of the Penn State Orchestra Committee, and Event Organizer of the Penn State Society of Bassists.
