Violinist Munire Mierxiati is a masters graduate from Jacobs School of Music in Indiana University, in which she studied with the Chair of its Strings department, Grammy winner Simin Ganatra. She is currently under the tutelage of Almita Vamos, in the midst of earning her Performance Diploma. Munire has performed in some of the greatest venues such as Carnegie Hall, Danenberg Honors Recital at Warner Hall, and performed with the Oberlin Orchestra New York City tour. She has worked closely with the Pacifica Quartet and continues to be involved in many chamber performances to date. Munire has also played with professional orchestras and was amongst the few selected to partake in the first violin section such as the Carmel Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and she served as concertmaster with the Miami Music Festival Orchestra. Munire has worked with many famous musicians, such as violinist Joshua Bell and pianist Lang Lang. Munire has had many mentors along her musical journal such as Ani Kavafian, Alexander Kerr, Ellen dePasquale, and many others. Additionally, Munire has had several awards and honors for her achievements throughout the years, such as Oberlin Dean’s Talent Award, the Graduate Tuition Award, which was selected by committee members of the conservatory.
