Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies Competition

The Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies, Inc. Competition rotates annually among the three departments, this year (2022) the competition will be held within the Instrumental Program. Winner receives $1,000 and performs as soloist with the Music School Festival Orchestra in the summer of 2023. 
Watch 8 instrumentalist students from the School of Music compete in the semifinals for the SAI Competition.

The final round will take place on July 14th, 2022 at 4 PM in Fletcher Music Hall.

Our COVID protocols vary depending on the nature of the program involved. Please note that where masking is in effect, surgical, KN95, or N95 masks are required. All protocols are subject to change; Chautauqua Institution will remain in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

While the majority of venues and circumstances at Chautauqua Institution are operating with optional masking, Chautauqua Institution WILL be requiring audiences to mask when attending:

  • Chautauqua Opera Company and Conservatory performances in Norton Hall and other indoor venues
  • Chautauqua Theater Company performances in Bratton Theater and other indoor venues
  • All indoor student performances and studio visits
