Adrian Hsieh
Cello

Adrian Hsieh is a rising sophomore in the Columbia-Juilliard Exchange program at Columbia University. He began his cello studies at the age of four and has studied with Ann Grabe, Jason Duckles, Dr. Steven Pologe, and Professor Richard Aaron. Adrian performed as the 27th Young Artists Debut Winner in 2021. He was the bronze medalist at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's 27th Annual National Young Artist Competition in 2021 and was the 1st place winner of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute Concerto Competition in 2019 and performed with the VSO, conducted by Maestro Otto Tausk, in an outdoor concert to a crowd of more than 10,000. He has performed as a soloist with the UBC Chamber Orchestra, the Corvallis Youth Symphony, and the Oregon Mozart Players Orchestra conducted by Director Kelly Kuo. He has played in master classes taught by Zuill Bailey, Robert Jesselson, and Zlatomir Fung. Adrian studied piano with Dr. Alexandre Dossin and was the winner of the CMSO Concerto Competition 2020. Adrian also enjoys theater performances. He has played the lead in West Side Story and Beauty and the Beast musicals and was the music director of the Spitfire Grill presented by the CSD Theaters in 2019.

Adrian is the recipient of The Catherine Prussing Rodgers Scholarship, The Augusta L. Ebert Molyneaux Scholarship, and The Reed Family Scholarship.
