Arthur Ross III is the Assistant Principal Viola for the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.  Arthur performs with the Hilton Head Orchestra, the South Carolina Philharmonic, and - as Assistant Principal Viola - with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra.

A native Augustan, at age 11 Arthur began music studies on the violin with the Richmond County String Program.  He switched to viola several years later after being accepted to Davidson Fine Arts School and began studying with long-time Principal Viola of the Augusta Symphony, Carl Purdy.  After graduating from Davidson, Arthur attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Applied Viola Performance.
