Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Greenville Symphony’s 2025–2026 season—The American Season, created in honor of the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding.
Designing this season came with a deep sense of responsibility. Telling the American story is not simple—it’s layered, full of triumph and tension, of pride and perseverance. But in that complexity lies its greatest strength. Our shared history is not one voice, but a chorus: built by countless hands, shaped by many walks of life, and still being written.
This season invites us to listen more closely—to the unforgettable sweep of film scores, the energy of city life in An American in Paris, and the heartfelt reflections in Dvořák’s American Quartet, inspired by the rhythms, people, and landscapes he encountered here in the United States.
Some of this music is familiar. Some is new. All of it, in some way, is part of the American fabric—celebrating the people, places, and possibilities that have shaped who we are.
As we look toward this national milestone, my hope is that these concerts remind us of what we share: a love for great music that brings us—people from all walks of life—together to create shared moments of beauty.
Thank you for joining us this season. We are honored to have you with us.
