Lydia Acker

trained for fourteen years at International Ballet under the direction of Vlada Kysselova. She performed various reputable roles including the soloist in Markitenka Pas de Six, Gamzatti in excerpts from La Bayadere, and Swanilda in Coppélia. She is currently studying at the University of South Carolina as a Dance Performance and Choreography major and is a member of the UofSC Honors College. As a student at the university, she has performed in George Balanchine’s Serenade as the Russian Girl, Western Symphony, Raymonda Variations, and Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet staged by Stacey Calvert, as well as the Mazurka Lead in Les Sylphides staged by Jennifer Deckert. She has also trained at various summer intensive programs such as the School of American Ballet, Chautauqua Institution, Cincinnati Ballet, and Ballet Met. The year of 2020 marks her eighth time performing in the annual Greenville Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday at Peace concert.
