Jason Parker
Tenor

Jason Parker is currently the director of choirs at Squalicum High School and Shuksan Middle School. He also serves as the director of drama and theatre at Squalicum.

Prior to coming to Bellingham seven years ago, Mr. Parker spent 10 years as choir director and technical theatre director at Apollo High School in St. Cloud, Minnesota. During that time he was a highly sought-after soloist and performer, appearing as featured soloist with ensembles such as Great River Chorale, Minnesota Center Chorale, and the Bella Voce Consort, as well as 5th Voice, a church-based vocal quartet.

A versatile singer, Mr. Parker has performed solos and recitals representing a broad range of repertoire. He has performed as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Gounod’s St. Cecilia’s Mass, and Mozart’s Requiem, as well as several of Bach’s cantatas. Mr. Parker has also performed in multiple opera and musical theatre performances in both leading and chorus roles, but his true love is in the German lieder of Schumann, Schubert, and Brahms. He is thrilled to be joining Whatcom Chorale for this concert and looks forward to making much more music here in the future!
