Sheelagh Cullen was born in Limerick and came to Los Angeles from Hong Kong, where she ran a theater company for 10 years. Previously, she had worked in theater and television in both England and her native Ireland. She appeared in the Dublin and London productions of Children of the Wolf, played Ophelia in a production of Hamlet at the Dublin Theatre Festival and was in Edna O’Brien’s Pagan Place at the Royal Court Theatre. Her television appearances included Sonya in Uncle Vanya opposite Cyril Cusack and the title role in Eveline with Donal Donnelly. In Los Angeles, she has worked at Stages Theatre, Shakespeare Festival/LA, Theatricum Botanicum, LA Theatre Works, Working Stage Theatre and the Odyssey Theatre. Earlier this year, she appeared in Beckett’s Come and Go and Footfalls and has gotten back to her Irish roots, both in The Heart of an Irishwoman and as narrator and storyteller in a series of Irish concerts with Kerry Irish Productions Inc.
