Born in Nuoro, Italy, Angelo Greco grew up in Modena and trained at Il Balletto di Castelfranco Veneto, followed by La Scala Ballet Academy in Milan. He later joined La Scala Ballet, where he was awarded a lifetime contract. After performing on prestigious stages around the world, his extensive experience and broad repertoire inspired him to pursue his passion in the United States. He joined San Francisco Ballet in 2016 as a soloist and was promoted to principal the following year. Greco joined Houston Ballet as a Principal Dancer in July 2025.
Many renowned choreographers have created works for Greco, including Yuri Possokhov’s Optimistic Tragedy, Helgi Tomasson’s Harmony, Dwight Rhoden’s Let's Begin At The End, Christopher Wheeldon’s Bound To, and Stanton Welcham’s Bespoke. He has also performed principal and featured roles in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote, Alexei Ratmansky’s The Sleeping Beauty, and Maurice Béjart’s Gaîté Parisienne. Among his honors, Greco received Dance Europe’s Outstanding Artistry Award in both 2011 and 2012, and the Erik Bruhn Prize in 2016.
