Leonard Patton

Leonard Patton is a versatile, award-winning vocalist whose warm tenor, expressive improvisation, and instrumental approach to singing have earned him wide acclaim. He holds a master’s degree in jazz studies from San Diego State University and is respected for his deep musical insight and collaborative spirit.

Patton has released several notable recordings, including Dream Walkin’ with pianist Peter Sprague; Love, Life, and Song, which was nominated for Best Jazz Album at the San Diego Music Awards; and Expressions, a duo project with Grammy Award–nominated pianist Geoffrey Keezer. Beyond the jazz stage, he has performed extensively in musical theater with leading San Diego companies.

Raised in a gospel household, Patton began writing songs at just eleven years old, developing a broad and open musical sensibility that continues to shape his distinctive sound—one that seamlessly blends jazz, gospel, soul, pop, and theater. He is also the owner and creative force behind The Jazz Lounge, an intimate San Diego venue dedicated to live performance and artistic collaboration. His music is available on all major streaming platforms.
